Zhik was founded before the Athens Olympics in 2004, when it was noticed that the sailing apparel
markets could do with a spark of innovation. There was clearly scope to bring in technically
proficient gear to help athletes win gold. Since then, Zhik has not only achieved this, but combined
it with a fresh outlook in styling.
After success in the dinghy boats, Zhik set about designing some brilliant yachting gear. Zhik gear
is rapidly becoming a new choice for racing sports boats and is now extending to ranges suitable
for offshore yachting.
Zhik has also expanded on its research and development, with new projects in material science
likely to change many facets of performance apparel. They aim for athletes to wear less layers in
winter and to provide functionality where it counts. Now growing to include new technical products
that will appeal in a larger set of outdoor and marine applications, expect to see more of Zhik as
they build a network and extend into broader marine activities.

The 2019 F18 North American Open Championship welcomes Nacra Sailing and Performance Sails as a Gold level sponsor!
Nacra Sailing has been a long time supporter of the F18 Class including sponsorship of multiple North American, European and World Championships.
For the 2019 F18 North American Open Championship we will be auctioning a new Performance Sails F18 Mainsail that can be custom cut for any F18. More details to follow soon!
The US F18 Class Association thanks Title Sponsor Catharina Whitehead and her company, B&C Technologies for their years of dedication and support.
Catharina’s son Matthew Whitehead began sailing at the young age of twelve and it didn’t take long for that initial curiosity to turn into a deep passion. While many of his peers were content making mischief with friends, Matthew’s newfound dedication drove him to spend his free time watching experienced sailors, waxing his catamaran and learning as much about the sport as possible.
Following the example of the 2019 F18 Worlds in Spain we are announcing a special trophy for classic F18 Catamarans. The Notice of Race has been updated accordingly (reflected in version 1.02).
A classic F18 is defined solely by the hull shape by not having inverted bows. So, don’t let your older production-year F18 be an excuse to not participate in the F18 North American Championships! You may not be first, but you still can win an award. Well, you never know - a well setup classic could still be overall North American Champion! Anything is possible.
Classic boat examples, commonly sailing in the US, are the Hobie Tiger, the Nacra F18 or Inter 18.
The freshly remodeled Clubhouse will be opened this coming Sunday! If you live close, come on by to celebrate. If you live far away, just take a note, that we have a nice club house waiting for you throughout the 2019 North Americans!
